Swivel
I recently ran across a post on TechCrunch (the latest addition to my RSS feed list) about a company named Swivel. They describe themselves as the "YouTube for data." The idea is that anyone from the public can upload data and everyone else can see and use your data for free. The result is that you can compare the number of goats sold in India to the price of glue sticks in the US. It's data mining heaven.
My only concern is that there's no sanity check on the quality of incoming data, and as you know, 86.4% of all statistics are made up. For example, Travis has taken a break from changing the tires on his house to upload data showing that the more beers he drinks, the more people he hates.
It could be a great idea, but like other social websites, it will only work if a critical mass adopts it.
