Closing the Lifts

I think my ski season is about done. All those lucky people in Colorado are just hitting their peak season, but the places around here are drying up. Here's the final tally on the places I skied and the number of vertical feet I skied each time:

Blue Mountain - 10,000 (est)
Blue Mountain - 15,000 (est)
Sunday River - 16,270
Shawnee Peak - 16,340
Sunday River - 25,160
Blue Mountain - 12,000
Camelback - 15,000
Blue Mountain - 25,000
Blue Mountain - 12,100
Blue Mountain - 13,600

That gives me a grand total of 160,470 vertical feet. Looks like I have a mark to beat for next year.

I headed over to the Blue Mountain website tonight and it looks like they have some big plans for 2006-2007. The old, slow double char that runs up the side of Challenge is getting replace by a six person detachable quad. It's what every little ski hill needs. Actually it will probably be pretty nice. That area gets really packed on the weekends. They're also building a brand new five floor valley lodge with the top three floors being condos.

Now if we could just get through these 40 degree days and move on to some warmer weather I'd be ready to start taking some motorcycle trips to Cape May and New Hope.
