Lost... My Interest
Has Lost jumped the shark? During the first season, the show was always on my mind, and I was constantly coming up with theories to answer questions posed on the show. During the second season, some of the mystery disappeared as questions were answered, but some new questions were raised that kept me coming back. Now I'm not feeling it. The show has slowed down. There's not as much going on and we've come to pretty much a single plot line.
The main question now is "How long can they keep this up?" Ideally, the show would have been scheduled for a specific length of time (three seasons?) and stopped after that. They could have planned out the whole story and made each episode count. I get the feeling that they have a contract for infinite shows, and they are trying to milk as much money as possible before it tanks. I don't necessarily blame them for this, but it's frustrating as a viewer.
It's a shame really. The show started off so well, and it seems to be dying, at least in my eyes. It's not going to last for 10 years, so how does it end? Will the show just continue to whither away until it gets canceled? Will the make the decision to leave while they're still at the top of the ratings charts?
Lost still raises questions for me, but now they have nothing to do with the plot line.
