Beer Me
When my parents were here, I took them on a tour of the Red Hook Brewery. I learned that they distribute to 48 states, but I had never seen them before moving out here. The tour itself is quite a deal. $1 and you get about two pints of beer... more if you answer questions or ask for more. I'd be happy to take you over there sometime, or if you're up to the challenge, we can throw in the Columbia Winery and Chateau Ste. Michelle tours before Red Hook. They're all conveniently within walking distance.
Here are a couple interesting facts I learned on the tour:
- Utah bans the sale of any beer with an alcohol content higher than 4.0% (by volume.) This rules out most beer.
- Washington state drinks the most draft beer per capita in the US.
- Ballard drinks the most in Washington state. Ballard is where a lot of fishing boats are docked. It's also where Matt and Laura live.
