Saturday was a gorgeous day and I spent it up at Mt. Baker. If you recall the last time I went it was a blizzard and I left around noon when they shut down most of the mountain. This time was the exact opposite. There was no new snow, but the skies were blue. I wish I had been able to take pictures of the road up the mountain. There were vertical walls of snow on both sides of the road that were easily 10-12 feet high.
On Friday, I was reading an article in Skiing magazine (sorry can't find it online) about different lines down Gunner's Bowl. As I road up Chair 6, I spotted the bowl and decided to give it a shot. I was rewarded with some fresh lines and a great run down through "The Canyon." The canyon is a path about as wide as a cat track or two and it has vertical rock walls on both sides. There's a picture of it here.
