This Thursday, I take to the skies again for a trip to Jersey. I'll be in town for a couple days and it sounds like I'll be seeing most of you Jersey kids there.

The upcoming trip reminded me of two airline tracking sites that I've started using on my trips. FlightStats is a great way to check up on the current status of your flight. They have a nice cell phone browser interface and it's easy to pick your airport and get a quick overview of the ontime/delayed ratio.

FlightAware is probably a bit less useful, but it's intriguing. They plot the current location of every US flight and put them together into a time lapse animation. And it's possible to track a single flight which is handy if you're tasked with picking someone up from the airport.

I've been using kayak.com a lot lately to pick out my flights. I like the flexible date search. But what I really want is a website where I can say "I want to fly from X to Y on a Friday to Monday trip, but I don't care what weekend it is." Then it would search that trip over all the upcoming weekends and show me which weekend is the cheapest. Does anybody know of a site like that?

Now it's time to make sure my Orb setup is working so that I can stream TV to my phone while I'm waiting in the airports.
