One year ago today, I posed awkwardly for my Microsoft badge picture with a determined look of "I don't want this to look stupid" on my face. It didn't work. I've been a Microsoft employee for one year already and, to be cliché (is it more cliché if I say "to be cliché"?), time flies. At least I spelled cliché with the proper accent mark over the e. Who decided that cliché and resumé needed to be spelled like that? We've modified and changed so many words from other languages, but that é is sacred?

My group has gone through a lot of changes in the past year. One thing that hasn't changed is that I still can't tell you what I'm working on. Hopefully that will be changing soon, but who knows. I'm not in charge of stuff like that.

After a year I'm very satisfied with the move. I'm loving Seattle more and more every day. I'm still in awe when I drive down 405 and see Mt. Rainier looming in the distance or when I see the snow covered mountains from my deck. I've lived a lot of places in this country, but Seattle is by far my favorite of them all.
