Last weekend Tim jumped into the wonderful world of HDTVs with a 37" Vizio. If you're looking for a new LCD, those Vizios are hard to beat. They offer good performance at a terrific pricepoint.
Part of the deal I made with Tim was that if he bought a TV, I would buy a second Xbox for him to use. The second 360 has garnered me a few odd looks, but it wasn't just some random purchase. There was actually logic behind it:
- Gaming is more fun when you have somebody to play against. Now I live with somebody who can play with me.
- I eventually plan to get rid of my Comcast DVR and buy an HD cable Vista Media Center. At that point, the 360s will be used to stream the HD video throughout my house.
- I already had extra HD cables, wireless controllers, and a 20GB Xbox hard drive laying around the house. I bought a core system, slapped on the upgrades, and had a Premium system for the price of a core.
- Forza 2 supports multi-screen setups. You can have as many TVs linked together as you want (as long as you have an Xbox and a copy of the game for each TV.)
- When Halo3 comes out we can now support 8 player matches in our house.
- I'm a bachelor.
