I think I'm done with MySpace. The interface is painfully ugly and unusable, and there isn't really that much to do except look at pictures and leave a comment for someone. I'll keep my profile active but I'm turning off email notifications. I'm tired of hearing that some 15 year old girl with a video website wants to be my friend.

Facebook on the other hand keeps getting better and better. A few points where they win:

  • I don't get spam on Facebook.
  • They made the smart move to create an open API which has resulted in a flood of applications that you can add to your profile.
  • Networks are available for many colleges and businesses. On top of that, everyone can create Groups.
  • The interface is consistent and standard across every blog.
  • When I log on, I get a one line summary of everything my friends have been doing.

So Facebook is the clear winner here, but there's one caveat. MySpace still has more users. It's a chicken and egg problem, but I think Facebook is still gaining on MySpace and will take over before too long.
