Babies, Bikes and Facial Hair

Last Thursday night I hopped on a plane and got off in Syracuse for a visit with the Abendroths. I hadn't seen the whole crew since last August in Maine so it was great to catch up with everyone again!

Friday afternoon was spent mountain biking with Jay and Andy. Well technically Jay had a mountain bike, I had something close to one, and Andy was on a bike that would have been questionable riding through a puddle. You probably won't be surprised then to know that Andy is the one who almost dislocated his shoulder. Almost. And since it was "almost", the show continued.

Friday night, the whole family headed over to Casa de Kris and Ben for dinner. I'd seen pictures of their house but this was the first time I'd been there in person and it looks great!

Saturday was a nice lazy day that included an afternoon of football watching with Jay and Andy and ended at Mr. and Mrs. A's house for a mustache party. Dr. and Mrs. Chapman came over for the party too so we had a nice big group. A bonfire started later in the evening and lasted until about 3am. There are few things in life that I enjoy more than sitting around a fire chatting with friends.

The camera stayed in my pocket for most of the weekend, but I did get some good shots which I have added to the photo gallery. Everything up to the picture of Jay playing the drums is new.

The trip got extended through Sunday night. When I got the airport on Sunday night, I found out that Newark was a mess. I decided to just fly out in the morning instead and called Jay to come back and get me. I owe him one for driving me to the airport super early on Monday. It was very nice to forget about the airport trouble and fly the next day with no stress. Thanks to the time change, I landed in Seattle at 10am and headed straight to work. That's the first time I've ever commuted 3000 miles to get to work!

Thanks to all the Abendroths for showing me a great time while I was out there! I can't wait to do it again!
