Mall Maps from Bing
As we drove into a mall on Saturday, I asked Tyla which door she wanted to go in. She couldn’t pull up a mall map fast enough so we just guessed. That’s when I remembered a great new feature of Windows Phone and Bing: indoor maps!
The video below shows you the feature, but basically the feature is just what it sounds like. The map will show you each store in the mall and you can even switch between floors or get a directory view.
I found it a little hard to get the indoor maps to show up. Sometimes they seemed to appear if I just zoomed in through the map app where a mall was, and sometimes I had to search for a mall, open up the info, and then click on the indoor map link.
This will be a great feature for me to remember next year, but for the rest of this year, I’m enacting my “no malls on the weekends” rule. The holiday rush has apparently already started. The malls were PACKED last weekend.
If you have Android or iPhone, you should be able to get this through the Bing maps site as long as you have an HTML5 browser.
