Last night I made a little trip to a local establishment that specializes in serving alcoholic beverages of various types. When I sat down at a table, I looked over and sitting beside me was a famous celebrity. This young man played a very influencial role in shaping my life. It was none other than Dustin Diamond, a.k.a. Samuel “Screech” Powers from Saved by the Bell! He and his friends looked like they were just trying to have some time to themselves and, for the most part, they were left alone. That all changed around midnight when the word started spreading around the bar. Quite a few people who had had a few drinks too many felt the urge to introduce themselves to Screech. He put up with the festivities a while (including a picture of him and some of my friends.) Eventually security took him and his friends into a private room. I’ll never forget what I believe is one of most momentous events of my young life… I sat next to Screech Powers in a bar full of drunk people. Does it get any better than that?
