After dealing with actors who wanted to turn the movie into a musical, a hairdresser who wanted to give everyone mullet's, and a camera crew who was more interested in filming passing ladies, filming began late last night on the set of BYOP.

Terrain Generator
The OpenGL terrain generator is moving along nicely. I talked to Matt today and figured out how to average my normal vectors so that the lighting looks more realistic. The simulation currently allows you to move around in the world, flip from shaded to wireframe, add/remove water, and change the water level. I think it looks pretty good right now. The next job is to use the diamond square algorithm to dynamically generate clouds.
Todo
I've started a list of projects I'd like to work on. If you have any experience with any of these ideas, I'd like to hear from you. I don't know how long it will take me to get around to them all, but I figure that if I at least make a list then I won't forget about them.
There’s A Place Where I Go
This poem is going to be prominently displayed when I buy my island and build a house on it. Just a little motivation to work hard and escape the cube farms.
Nobody Knows it But Me
There’s a place that I travel,
When I want to roam
And nobody knows it but me.
The roads don’t go there,
And the signs stay home
And nobody knows it but me.
It’s far, far away and way, way afar,
It’s over the moon and the sea,
And wherever you are going,
That’s wherever you are
And nobody knows it but me.

OBDII
Woo! Last night I was looking for a project. Tonight I found one. Have you ever heard of OBD-II? It's a standard that is on every car since 1996 and spits out tons of data about your car – rpm level, speed, error codes, etc. How cool is that? The connector is under your steering wheel. I went out and checked my Mustang. Sure enough, it's just to the right of where my right shin would be. So what's my project? I want to make a connector and use my Jornada to make a real-time data read out of my car's performance! Seems pretty ambitious but hopefully I'll be able to pull it off. I'm sure you'll be hearing more about this in the future. Stay tuned!

Professor Teaford
In the fall semester of 2001, I had the privilege of taking a Constitutional History class from Professor Teaford. I hope that one day you'll get an opportunity to meet this man! The following are just a few of his memorable quotes. It's not the same as seeing him in person, but hopefully they'll be good for a few laughs.
