Here's a picture of me hanging with a larger-than-life Chris Claiborne. Do you think the screen is too big? Me either!
Theater Update
I posted an update on the theater room with some new pictures.

Theater Update
Theater update posted.
Theater Screen
Tyler and I measured the screen last night in our theater. It has just over a 9 foot diagonal. We will now win just about any "my TV is bigger than your TV" arguments. Of course if we get into one of those arguments we probably have bigger issues to deal with. Warning: playing DDR on this screen may induce seizures. Or what about GigaWing? Can you imagine playing that game on this screen Ed?
Mounting the Projector
I've had this great big house to myself today. Jay is off gallivanting in Boston. (That's the first time I've ever typed "gallivanting".) And Tyler is visiting Cape May with his family. So what did I do? I made a big list of things I needed to get done. This was the most productive day I've had in a long time. I went grocery shopping, did the wash, made a logo for our bowling shirts for the Junior Achievment fundraiser, and mounted the projector in the theater room. Whew! Now it's time to kick back, place some XBox, and then watch Big Brother. Tomorrow is another day and there's still more on my todo list.
Home Theater
The home theater project page is posted. I'll still be talking about it in the blog, but you can check there for more details and photos.
Upcoming Projects
The new house is coming together (aside from slight techincal difficulties with the dryer last night … there's no room in the breaker box for another circuit breaker.) There are two geek projects currently underway.
Mach Video
Jay and I will soon be making a trek to Virginia along with the other 2002 LDP's for the LDC3 conference. Along the way, we're going to stick a webcam in the car and take pictures with it about every second. We'll then combine the pictures into a video and you can see what it looks like to drive at about Mach 3 down to Virginia. This sounds kind of dumb, but I've seen it done before and it usually comes out looking pretty cool. I wrote up a program last night to control the webcam and store all the images.
Theater Room
I believe this is the first time I'm officially announcing this. Jay and I will be turning the first floor living room in our new house into our very own theater. Last night we hooked up the projector and planned out the stadium seating. Before long I will be making a separate page for updates about this project so you can follow along if you're interested. If it comes out even half as good as we're planning it should be a sight to behold.
Projector
Announcement number 2! It looks like I'm going to be a couple minutes late so this will be posted under Friday's headline. Oh well, you'll just have to deal.
Today a BenQ PB6100 was delivered to my house. After about a month of research I finally settled on this projector. It's the first piece of the home theater project that we're going to start for the new house. Don't worry… we'll have a full geek project page documenting the whole thing. It's going to have everything… inclduing stadium seating!
Asteroids
Ed and Chris hold the title as the first outside people to try out the arcade machine. From their reactions it seems the machine is a resounding success. Here's a short video so you can see it in action. What about the rest of you? Get over here and play it!
